You can make your own, or you can just use ones made by others and that are available to use. But wait, what about Nintendo? Will I get sued? That being said, your game has to be a fangame of some sort. It could be a video game franchise, or it could be your favorite YouTuber. Nope! Any fangame based on any franchise is welcome, and we are leaving the definition for "franchise" very open-ended. FAQ: Who can enter?Īnyone! You're even allowed to form teams, with a maximum of 5 people. That's right, you will make a fangame that's not just based on one franchise, but two! How you do that is entirely up to you though, as long as 2 (or more) different game franchises are involved in some way it counts!Īnd before anyone asks, sub-franchises like Yoshi, Wario, and even Mario Kart count as separate franchises as well, at least for the purpose of this jam. You can share your games on Twitter using the #MFGGJam hashtag if you want us to retweet your stuff.
MFGG Main Site Our Discord Server Twitter Account This installment of the jam is also a bit special because in July we will be celebrating MFGG's 20th anniversary! The results and the winning games will get announced on the 5th of July. The jam will be starting on the 25th of June at 12 PM PST, and ending 5 days later, on the 30th of June at 12 PM PST.Īfter the jam ends there will be a period where everyone can vote for the games submitted. This is almost there, so don't be afraid from trying to fix things up and resubmitting the port! Please note that you should submit the sampled version separated from the unsampled one, even if the difference between them is very small.įorum Index - Valley of Bowser - Moderation Questions - Music - Mario Multiverse - Level Select by Ezek.Hello there! This is a game jam where you have 5 days to make a game based on a preexisting IP. Your game also has to follow a certain theme, which will be announced when the jam starts. Also, you don't need the brackets if the note data isn't going to be repeated, as it's the case of the first and the last two channels that'll unnecessarily waste memory. Still about volumes, I'd suggest lowering down the volume of the leads a little bit the instruments used are pretty loud by default, mainly finally, while this port hasn't much to optimize, there's one little thing that could be done to save a couple bytes: to loop the long r1 strings you have in the last two channels (keep in mind it saves up more if you loop r2s instead of r1s!). You can lower the global volume to a value around at least w180, in order to keep it playing at the same volume range of the rest. Moving ahead, your port is very loud, so much that it drowns out the SMW SFX.
You're free to play around with values and see what fits the best, but just in case you get stuck, this is an example of a config that could work: I'd recommend lowering the volume a little, and increasing the delay (the byte right after the $F1) a bit aswell. In its current state, the volume is a bit loud ($4F), causing muddiness, especially when the main melody comes in. I'm assuming you intended to stick to the SMAS style here, but the echo settings SMAS uses didn't fit really well in this case. On line 76, there's the same pattern but with a notes the last two ones should be a g and an f.Īs for the mixing, my biggest bother with it is echo config you've set. You have f r64 f r64 f r64 f on line 44, where the last two f notes should be e and d notes, respectively. I'll start this off by pointing out a very simple mistake you've made in #2 & #3: there are two little wrong notes in these channels. Note that the issues I'll mention here apply to both sampled and unsampled versions. This one is pretty decent accuracy-wise, but I believe it could see some adjustment, especially in the mixing, before being approved.
It contains 2 versions, one sampled and the other unsampled. It may fit for a special world theme, I don't know very well. The creator of the music is mad nyle, look it up on youtube and subscribe. There was no MIDI on the internet, so I did it. This is the theme that sounds when you go to the mario multiverse stage world, (a BEAUTIFUL mario maker fangame, look for it, you will love it, it has a smas game style, and even a sewer style!)
